deCoubertin Books with the Epstein Theatre are delighted to bring you an Evening with Bruce Grobbelaar and Neville Southall.
Bruce Grobbelaar is the most decorated goalkeeper in Liverpool FC’s 125-year history. He arrived in England, initially on loan at Crewe Alexandra. Later, Bob Paisley – Liverpool’s most successful manager – decided to sign him as a replacement for the great Ray Clemence. Grobbelaar spent nearly 15 seasons at Anfield where he won 19 medals.
For more than sixteen years Southall kept goal for Everton and Wales, becoming his club and country’s greatest servant, as well as Everton’s most decorated player. Uncompromising, unorthodox and often unkempt, Southall’s career followed an incredible trajectory: from football-mad binman, to the greatest goalkeeper in the world in the space of a few years.
We’ve brought them together for one night only to discuss their careers and their many games against one another during their formidable careers on Merseyside. This is sure to be a great night! Coinciding with the Merseyside derby, Grobbelaar and Southall will be at the Epstein Theatre on Saturday 1 st December.
