Business As Usual

On 25th April detectives from the Economic Crime Team at Merseyside Police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of theft, fraud and money laundering offences in connection with an ongoing investigation.

The investigation involves a series of reported thefts between July 2016 and December 2017 at the Epstein Theatre, Liverpool.

Police confirmed the man has been released pending further enquiries and detectives are continuing to work closely with The Epstein Theatre directors and administrators from FRP Advisory.

Response from Rebekah Pichilingi, General Manager and Director, and David Pichilingi, Director, at Epstein Theatre, said:

“The Epstein Theatre management team would just like to thank both FRP Advisory and the police for all of their hard work and commitment in ensuring that this matter is resolved as quickly as possible, so that the Epstein can continue doing what it does best, providing top class entertainment to the people of Liverpool.”

Lila Thomas, Joint Administrator of Epstein Theatre Limited (in administration) and partner at FRP Advisory, added:

“Together with the team at Epstein Theatre, we are providing every support to the police to assist them with their investigation.

“The Theatre continues to operate as normal, with a line-up of great shows booked in until 2019.  We’re working closely with the Board, staff and key stakeholders to complete a financial restructuring that will secure the Theatre’s long-term future, and we’re confident a successful outcome can be achieved.”
